What it actually is
Three to five stops across an evening, mixing markets, roadside stalls and sometimes a temple or a viewpoint, with a guide ordering for the group. Food is included rather than paid for at each stop, and most tours run four hours or so.
Who it suits
First-time visitors, anyone nervous about ordering from a stall, and people who want to see parts of the city that are not on the nightlife strips. Good early in a trip, because it teaches you what to order for the rest of it.
Who it doesn't
Anyone with a restrictive diet, unless you have confirmed it in advance — street food is not easy to adapt on the spot. Also not for anyone who wants to linger; the tour keeps moving.
